Some days do you wonder what are you doing? Why are you doing what you are doing? Sometimes we do things because we have always done them. Or sometimes it is because the Lord gave you direction to do something and you’re continuing on His last directive. However, there comes a time when it’s important to go back to the Lord and make sure that the last directive still stands.
Let me share how I relate to this. Every week we write an email to all of you. Its purpose is to invite you to join us on Monday evening for our Pursuing Destiny Call. But it never seems enough to just give you the zoom information. It always seems like there should be a message to go along with the info.
Some weeks it’s easy to write something and then some weeks it’s a struggle to find a topic, something that’s relative, current. I never want to write for the sake of writing. It absolutely needs to be spirit led and that can be a challenge. 😊
The other challenge is ……..wondering if what you’re writing is being read and if it has any impact to those who take the time to read what was sent.
Then, in the midst of all the questions and dilemmas comes the real question. Is that “something” that God asked you to do, something He still wants you to do? Has He released you to NOT do “It” anymore?
That’s been my question to God about our weekly email. Is our season up for sending an email? The Lord asked us/me to do an email each week and He has not said anything about stopping it. Trust me, it would be easy to stop. However, the mandate that the Lord gave me years ago was…I was to do it for the ONE. It’s not about the hundreds its about the ONE!!! It’s always been about the One and here we are continuing to do what the Lord asked us to do even if it is for only ONE!!!
The challenge is this…Are you doing what you are doing because God asked you to? Are you being obedient to the task even if you don’t completely understand the whole process? Are you being faithful to His directive even if you don’t have all the information? Maybe the ONE benefiting by completing your task each week is YOU!!! Maybe the reason you’re to be obedient is in what you are learning, and it really doesn’t have anything to do with anyone else. God loves those who are obedient and are faithful. It is a trait that God finds useful in His kingdom. Faithful when no one else is seems to be, can be the very thing that pivots and launches His servant, YOU, into the destiny that God has for You.
So, the moral of the story is this. If you are feeling like giving up on something that you haven’t seen any fruit. Don’t give up. Don’t stop. Don’t get frustrated. Pursue God to make sure you’re still on the right track and don’t stop doing the last thing God told you to do. When it’s time to shift, I promise you HE will Tell You!!! Just stay close to the Vine!!! He’s your source.
