Are You Pursuing Your Destiny?

Greetings Everyone!!!

Pursuing Destiny?!?!?!   What does that mean?  What does that look like for you?

?

Pursuing Destiny will have different meanings for each of us.  Pursuing our destiny could be raising children in a godly home.  Raising them to be strong, secure, loving and kind.  It could mean running an efficient household so our spouse is available to do what God has called them to do.  It could be climbing the corporate ladder and influencing every person that we encounter as God guides our steps.  It could be writing a weekly blog, writing a book, setting up a YouTube channel.  It could be volunteering at a women’s shelter, building homes with Habitat for Humanity and the list goes on.  Pursuing destiny comes in many shapes, sizes, and colors.  Pursuing destiny is NOT a one size fits all.  Just as your fingerprints are unique to you, so is the plan that God has for you.  Now, let me contradict what I just said. Pursuing destiny is different for each of us, HOWEVER, it is the same.  Let me explain…..

Pursuing destiny, although different for each of us, the foundation is EXACTLY the same.  The foundation, especially for us as believers, should bare an uncanny resemblance to each other.  Here’s what I mean.  Pastor Jentezen Franklin wrote a book titled:  Right People, Right Place, Right Plan.  There’s the similarity.  What we are all doing, if we are intent on fulfilling the call, the assignment of God on our lives, is searching for God’s Right People, Right Place, and Right Plan that He has specifically designed for us.  Where does God want us?  With whom does God want us to be connected to?  What is God’s ultimate plan for us?  Now, let me say this, if you are in the midst of child rearing, God may not call you to go to a foreign country to live for six months, until your children are grown and out of the house, unless the family is called to do missions work, then that might be a different story.  Your plan, place, and people will be and can be very different.  You might have the same place as another, but what God has called you to do in that place could be extremely different than anyone else in that place.

Our mission, should we accept it, is to seek God for what His plan, place and people are for US!!! That’s when it can get frustrating.  I’m just being real.  It isn’t always easy to WAIT on the Lord to reveal those three things.  Many of us want it NOW!!!  We don’t want to park the car and walk inside to order our food, that’s why we have the drive-thru.  It’s gotten so bad, in my opinion, that Chick-fil-A and many others, have two lines for the drive-thru.  That being said, let me say this…Waiting on God is the BEST thing that you can do.  I would rather wait on the Lord and be in His perfect will than to be in His permissive will.  Now, don’t get me wrong, permissive will isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it can be a good thing.  HOWEVER, I am not looking to live in His permissive will, I am looking to live in His perfect will.  In His perfect will there is fullness.  In His perfect will there is great satisfaction and fulfillment.  There is contentment and joy.  The other thing that happens is, being in His perfect will gives you the grace and peace to wait at each juncture for the next directions.  It’s not a cake walk, however, it is much easier knowing that He is in control than trying to make things happen for ourselves.

Waiting on God is challenging at times, however, it is definitely worth the wait.  God is our provider.  God is, or should, be our guide.  When we step out of that flow, that’s when we run the risk of getting ourselves in trouble.  We look at a new car on the lot, and rather than waiting for God to give His stamp of approval, we sign on the dotted line and leave the lot with a huge car payment that we really hadn’t budgeted for.  Or, we go clothes shopping with a friend who’s been saving up for months to buy a few new items, and we get caught in the moment.  The next thing we know, we’re buying, and charging, because we don’t have the cash, all the items that we think we need on sale.   Then we pay 18% more for those items then necessary because we charged them. Or we buy a new house because we think the old one isn’t working, only to get ourselves into a huge payment.  We make decisions and then we ask God to help us cover them.  Bad Idea!!!  Trust me, I have been there, I have done that, more times than I care to admit.  That’s why this is something that is close to my heart.  There are no Jones’ in God’s world.  You are unique to Him, and what He has for you isn’t anything like what He has for others.  Your Plan, Your Place, and Your People, are as unique as your fingerprints.  The hardest thing to do is to wait for Him to reveal those things to you.  But, if you do, you will experience a peace like never before.  In my opinion, there is no greater feeling than to know that I am EXACTLY where God wants me to be.

Our passion as a ministry is to help you navigate through this plan and through the steps that it takes to get you there.  We talk more about this each week on our call, we hope you can join us.  The call-in information is listed below.
