From Compassion to Calling The Story of Diana Lynn Gaddey

Destiny’s Calling: Bringing Hope, Healing, and Restoration to Survivors of Sex Trafficking
As a woman of deep faith, Diana Lynne Gaddey has always carried a compassionate heart for those who are hurting. But her life’s mission toward healing and restoration became deeply personal when many people she loved struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. Watching people walk through 12-month rehabilitation programs that actually work opened Diana’s eyes to the power of long-term, intentional care.
That experience planted a seed.
In the years that followed, Diana became involved in women’s retreats in Florida and California, ministering to women who had endured physical and emotional abuse. She listened to their stories. She prayed with them. She saw firsthand the profound need for safe spaces where broken lives could begin again.
Eventually, that calling grew stronger.
A New Direction, A Clearer Calling
Diana Lynne and her husband Roy knew Minnesota would not be their forever home. Beyond the cold weather, they felt God stirring something new in their hearts. Initially, they believed they were being led to start an alcohol and drug recovery ministry in the Carolinas.
But as they began listening more closely to the stories around them, another crisis kept surfacing - sex trafficking.
They heard story after story of young girls being lured, manipulated, and trapped. Alcohol and drugs are often used as tools to groom and control victims. What began as addiction recovery conversations revealed something even more devastating happening beneath the surface.
They realized something critical: there were not enough long-term residential programs specifically designed to restore young women rescued from sex trafficking.
And so, Destiny’s Calling Ministries was born.
Why Clover?
The Gaddeys fell in love with Clover. Diana Lynne grew up in a small town in Michigan and cherishes the closeness, kindness, and connection that small communities offer. Clover feels like home.
They are community-minded. They believe in strengthening the town they live in. And they believe Clover can become a place known not just for charm - but for courage and compassion.
What Destiny’s Calling Will Provide
Destiny’s Calling Ministries is committed to walking alongside survivors with long-term, comprehensive care. Their support includes:
- Safe, secure housing
- Trauma-informed counseling
- Life skills training
- Job training and workforce reintegration
- Long-term mentoring and spiritual support
This is not a short-term shelter. It is a place for restoration.
The Vision: A Campus for Healing
Destiny’s Calling has purchased 12.36 acres of land to build a restorative campus designed specifically for healing and transition.
Destiny Girls Homes
Three 10-unit residential homes will serve girls ages 13 to 21 who have experienced sex or human trafficking.
These homes will provide a long-term, faith-centered safe haven. Residents will receive counseling, life skills education, and structured support to help them regain confidence, identity, and hope. The goal is to prepare each young woman to re-enter society empowered to walk in her God-given destiny.
Chapel and Pavilion
A chapel and pavilion will serve as gathering spaces for worship, after-school programs, fellowship events, and even weddings.
Hosting community events will help offset operational costs, allowing Destiny’s Calling to move toward financial sustainability while staying mission-focused.
Victori Village
Victori Village will offer micro-homes for graduates of the Destiny Girls Homes.
This transitional housing community allows young women to move from sequestered residential care to semi-independent living - with accountability and support - for up to three years. It is the bridge between rescue and full independence.
Destiny’s Calling ReSale Store
To help fund the vision, Destiny’s Calling operates a ReSale Store.
- 100% volunteer staffed
- 100% donated inventory
- 100% of proceeds directed toward building the homes
Every purchase supports restoration.
This Is Happening Here
Sex trafficking is not something happening “somewhere else.” It is happening in our neighborhoods, hotels, schools, and online spaces.
Diana Lynne has heard heartbreaking stories right here in our community.
One mother shared that her son-in-law forced her daughter onto a street corner to make money. She was given $100 - and from there, she was trafficked. The husband later died from an overdose. Today, that daughter is still being trafficked. Her mother does not know where she is. She only receives occasional calls confirming she is still alive.
At a local fair in Clover, Diana met a woman who lost one daughter to fentanyl and has another hospitalized for overdose.
These are not statistics.
They are families.
They are daughters.
They are someone’s child.
The Grim Reality
- Approximately 71% of sex trafficking victims in the U.S. are female.
- An estimated 300,000 children are at risk of commercial sexual exploitation each year.
- 50–60% of trafficking victims are minors.
- Both North and South Carolina rank among the highest states for trafficking activity.
- South Carolina consistently ranks in the top 10 for reported trafficking cases.
This is not a distant crisis.
It is here.
Where Things Stand Now
Construction has begun.
Infrastructure costs alone total $1,000,000.
There is currently a $300,000 funding gap that must be raised by the end of May to keep momentum moving forward.
The next fundraiser will be held on April 23 at New River Church.
A Call to Action: Be Part of the Rescue
Destiny’s Calling is building more than homes.
They are building safety.
They are building dignity.
They are building second chances.
This is our opportunity as a community to say that exploitation will not define our daughters. That silence will not protect traffickers. That healing is possible.
You can help by:
- Donating toward the building fund
- Attending the April 23 fundraiser
- Volunteering at the ReSale Store
- Sharing the mission with others
- Praying for the girls who will one day call this place home
The gap is $300,000.
The need is urgent.
The mission is clear.
Get involved today. Stand with Destiny’s Calling. Help create a safe place where young women can reclaim their futures and walk confidently into their destiny.
Because freedom should not be rare.
And healing should not be out of reach.
