Last Sunday morning as I walked to my computer to write our reminder email for our Monday Pursuing Destiny call, the Lord reminded me of the story of Elijah and the rain and how he asked his servant to go and the servant said “There’s only a cloud the size of a man’s hand” Obviously, that wasn’t big enough to produce the results, the rain that they needed. BUT, Elijah said…..Go back seven times. So, AGAIN (#2) and AGAIN (#3) and AGAIN (#4) and AGAIN (#5) and AGAIN (#6) and AGAIN (#7) ……. SEVEN times he went to look, AND THEN!!! IT HAPPENED!!!….. it poured RAIN!!! So much rain they couldn’t go out in it. They couldn’t travel anywhere. Elijah knew what was about to happen….that’s why he ran ahead of Ahab….to find shelter, to find protection from the BLESSING THAT WAS ABOUT TO POUR OUT!!!
The Lord Sends Rain
Elijah said to Ahab, ‘Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of rushing rain.’ So Ahab went up to eat and drink. Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; there he bowed himself down (a position of prayer) upon the earth and put his face between his knees. He said to his servant, ‘Go up now, look towards the sea.’ He went up and looked, he said, ‘There is nothing.’ Then he said, ‘Go again seven times.’ At the seventh time he said, ‘Look, a little cloud no bigger than a person’s hand is rising out of the sea.’ Then he said, ‘Go and say to Ahab, “Harness your chariot and go down before the rain stops you (A deluge was coming).”‘ In a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind; there was heavy rain. Ahab rode off and went to Jezreel. But the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; he girded up his loins and ran in front of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. (1 Kings 18:41-44 NRSV).
My spirit connected with the story when Holy Spirit reminded me of it on Sunday…..AND THEN….. on Wednesday I was in a conversation and the person said to me… “have you heard the new song by Elevation Worship…..it’s not out yet, won’t be till spring, it’s called “There is a cloud” OH MY GOLLY!!! I am in total AMAZEMENT to how good God is. Once again He humbles me…..Do you have any clue how much God loves you??? That He would send His prophetic word on Sunday and then “three days” later He would CONFIRM HIS message, through a person that had no idea what Holy Spirit had said on Sunday!!! AMAZING, TOTALLY AMAZING!!! GOD IS UP TO SOMETHING, AND IT IS BIG, REALLY, REALLY BIG!!! Side note: three means RESURRECTION. God’s bringing life into what has been dead, hopeless, impossible. Three also represents; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You have the Power of ALL three to change your situation.
God is saying: Ask Again, Look Again, Believe Again, Trust Again, Hope Again.
Nothing in your life looks anything like what God has spoken to you, promised you, spoken to you in your midnight hour when you cried out to Him in desperation, BUT GOD!!! God is saying: don’t focus on what you see, what your situation looks like in the natural, but focus on what you DON’T SEE!!! Go back again and look ONE MORE TIME!!! There’s a cloud and it’s about to pour out a blessing that there is not room enough to contain, a deluge is coming!!!
Here is the link to the song. I pray that it blesses you……Blesses you more than you can imagine….
It may take listening to it over and over before it penetrates your spirit…..put it on repeat, and bask in HIS presence and allow Holy Spirit to minister and speak to you….that’s exactly what I am doing right now as I write this to you…..Listening over and over and over!!! Allowing it to sink into my spirit…His Spirit Speaking to My Spirit!!!
Lord, pour out your spirit upon your people. Pour out blessings that there is not room enough to contain. Pour out love, kindness, healing, physical healing and emotional healing. Pour out financial healing, relational healing. Break generational curses, strongholds that have held your people back. Send your rain. Send a deluge. Send REVIVAL!!! And let revival begin with us. Thank you Lord for this word. We give you ALL the Glory and All the Praise. Thank you for what You are doing and what You are about to do. We anticipate, we expect!!! In Jesus precious name. Amen!!!
