A Season of Change

Greetings DCM Friends,

I have a very direct, straightforward challenge for us.  A question to get us to think about our priorities.
My challenge, and believe me I am challenging myself, is all about 2 Chronicles 7:14.  So, I am writing the scripture out in a more amplified, message type of way adding more to it to jar us to think.  A way that might just make you stop reading.  But if we search our hearts and our ways, we might have to rethink our routines and the way we are living.  So, for those that are not of the faint of heart keep reading.

The scripture says: “IF, my people, would turn from their wicked, self-centered, all about me lifestyle ways, and refocus on the truly important things in life, others, eternal things, THEN and ONLY THEN will God hear your prayers and heal your land”.

Well, you might say: “That was a little harsh, don’t ya think”?  To that I would say, ABSOLUTELY!!!  But sometimes harsh and direct is what we need to wake us up.  To shake up the routine and get us to put our priorities in proper order, in proper perspective.
We stay in a rut, praying the same prayers, living the same way and wonder why things are not changing.  We might wonder why when we lay hands on the sick, we don’t see them recover.  Could it be that we live our lives, day in and day out in the same routine?  We read a devotion each and every morning, and then we pray for the needs we know, and then we are off to the races.  Coffee with a friend, work 9 to 5, dinner and drinks out on the weekends, and then we hit repeat on Monday morning and start all over again.
There’s a saying that goes: “If you always do what you have always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten”.
I don’t know about you, but this is definitely a season of shift and change.  What occupied my time in the past is definitely changing.  I believe God is about to rearrange what has been, to re-insert something new into our schedule.  Are we listening?  Are we available emotionally to make the change?  Or, are our old habits and our comfortable way of life okay?
Well, in my humble, prophetic opinion, it seems that it is time to assess what we have done and revamp our lives to accommodate more of what God has for us.  To focus on eternal matters and not what matters to us?  To focus on what concerns God, not us.  What saddens Him.  What breaks His heart.  It seems only obvious that we should say Yes.  That we should make the necessary adjustments so that we can have the NEW that we SAY we want.  That we can live the life we have been praying for.  That we can walk in the anointing that we say we want.  That we can see the lives of those around us changed by the prayers that we pray.  That those we pray for will get saved, healed, and delivered, new jobs, raises, ministry opportunities, whatever it is.  That kind of lifestyle that breaks yokes and bondages every time we pray.  Powerful, supernatural prayer lifestyle!!!

So, the question is what is Holy Spirit asking you to change?  How can we seek His face and turn from our wicked ways to get what we have never gotten?  I believe if we ask the question, we will get an answer.
